Job summary

Risk Management’s main objective is to ensure that the financial and operational activities of Amundi London do not expose them and clients to potential or unexpected losses beyond their risk tolerance levels. 

The role holder reports to the Gobal Fixed Income Head of Risk management and assists defining, implementing and monitoring all measurement or control systems needed to properly ensure the overall constraint compliance of the asset management area and other processes with the commitment of the firms to the clients and any other third party. 

The role holder’s main responsibilities are:

1- Assist the Head of GFI Risk Management

-Define all relevant guidelines and risk limits for each management process or group of processes, and having those guidelines and limits duly validated by the relevant bodies
-Monitor, on a daily basis, the effective management process and the consistency of this process within the set guidelines.
-In liaison with the front office and other controls functions, identify, assess, monitor and test the overall risk situation of Amundi London.

2- Portfolios’ constraints Monitoring

-Organise and perform the daily controls for legal, contractual, statutory and internal constraints. Investigate breaches and properly qualify them as active, passive and technical, implement proper procedures to follow up breaches until they are corrected
-Appropriately escalate the breaches to senior management
-Respond to client requests on risk indicators/positions
-Validation of new products/term sheets -  Validation of new mandates and funds. Write and update procedures regarding tasks performed and methodologies chosen
-Maintain a database of breaches used to build up statistical studies of breaches and remedies taken

-Act as a support for the fund managers regarding the understanding of regulation

3- Financial Risks Monitoring

-Monitor forced prices, review unlisted products and illiquid securities
-Close follow-up of derivatives
-Define, Analyse and Monitor the Key risk Indicators
-Develop appropriate Stress Tests tools
-Participate in three monthly portfolio review and prepare adequate documentations for the meetings and ensuring that this is the minimum frequency at which the reviews occur
-Undertake analysis, development and maintenance of tools to ensure proper and effective controls

4- Investment Risk Monitoring

-Participate actively to the macro and especially the micro process review
-Assess the impact of new products on ratios, systems and risks in relation with the local risk manager
-Carry out the portfolio reviews monthly, one review per month.
-Answers to Internal Auditors

5- Backup of Risk colleagues

-Update documentation and operational procedures for each job tasks when relevant

6- Communication

-Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external contacts

-Good communication with Paris/Luxembourg/Singapore & HK Risk teams

Candidate criteria

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

-Some experience in Market Risk (predominantly Fixed Income or otherwise Equity/Money Markets) is essential
-A good undertsanding of Risk and some experience on derivatives trading
-Risk studies are welcomed

Required skills

-It is essential that candidates are fluent in English, both oral and written (French speaking is not required)
-Seeking candidate who is conscientious, with a problem-solving orientation and the ability to work under pressure and deadlines
-Good analytical skills and strong attention to detail
-Seeking a candidate who enjoys working in a team, as well as on their own
-Strong verbal and written communication skills


Fluent written and verbal English is essential
